Preschool, Primary, and Secondary Placement Counseling

Ideal Service for: Families who need personalized, child-centric, school placement counseling for their children

BER works with families to find schools that are matched to each student’s unique profile. BER consultants—all of whom are educators with at least 15 years of educational experience—work directly with families. Whether families are relocating country-to-country, state-to-state, or pursuing the best educational match for their children in private or public schools in their home town, the knowledge, experience, and collective network of BER will identify the best and most appropriate match for each client.

Boarding School Placement Counseling

Ideal Service for: Families seeking boarding school admission worldwide for their children (whether or not family is relocating)

There are over 600 boarding schools in the United States and many more in Europe and other countries abroad. How does a family know which one is right for each student? Boarding schools are available for gifted children, average children, children with learning differences, children with other special needs, and children with emotional problems. BER consultants have worked with boarding school admission offices for many years and several BER consultants are former boarding school officers, head of school, admission officers and teachers. When we are not working with clients, BER consultants are either visiting boarding schools or being visited by boarding school personnel. We know about the schools when we recommend them. Parents of boarding school children must be thoroughly convinced of safety issues, from who is driving their children around to what goes on in a dormitory at night when lights go out. BER consultants are conversant in all areas of boarding school life. The academic profile is usually the first concern but the rest that follow can hold equal weight.


Special Needs Counseling

Ideal Service for: Families with special needs children (whether or not family is relocating)

Special needs students are students with learning and physical disabilities as well as those who are identified as gifted and talented. The BER consultant network includes qualified professionals with special education degrees and experience. These professionals provide personalized education counseling to special needs students and their families. Our consultants review testing materials, evaluations and diagnosis information to make informed decisions about the most appropriate educational placement. BER consultants serve as advocates for each student's unique needs.

University Education Counseling

Ideal Service for: Students who seek to enter university at the undergraduate or graduate levels in the U.S. or abroad. This service is also ideal for accompanying partners of international assignees who wish to pursue university study while on assignment.

BER provides comprehensive personalized support through the entire university selection and application process. Counseling typically begins a full year or more in advance of the desired admission date. The BER consultant supports the student via personal meetings, email and/or phone conferencing until university acceptance.
